With these materials, instruments, in the hands of our students, they will be able to learn how to create and read music with instruments that are in great condition. There is nothing more frustrating than being willing, but not having the right tools to get the job done. Having new instruments will not only make playing music easier, but it also shows them that someone, even if anonymous, cares about me. Which for many of our students is not always the case outside of school. In band, we learn to play everything from Hot Cross Buns, to Beethoven, to Rock N Roll and so much more. But most importantly, the band creates a place where all students regardless of background, income, religion, etc., can come into a safe learning environment. Band is a place where they learn to communicate, express emotions, fill empathy, work as a team, set goals and understand they are important, because there's no bench in band.

About my class
