My focus this school year is to help build my student's reading stamina and fluency. By having access within the classroom, they can find recent titles that will interest all levels. When the students are exposed to literature, they are more likely to find something that peaks their interests and then they will continue to read more. I would also like to have book clubs for our students to be able to show them how to delve deeper into more books than we have time in the class period. The more our kids are exposed to good writing, excellent literature and a world outside of their own; they will become more well rounded and better people. I love reading and want my students to all find that same joy, and see the value of a large reading circle and how that can help them succeed.
