My students are in charge of putting together an international music festival for their end of the year concert. This will include songs, dances, and instrumental numbers from five different cultures they will study from around the world. One of these cultures will include Hawaiian as well as Portuguese, where the modern ukulele was inspired to be created and where it is today. My 5th grades have spent the last two years studying the recorder and are ready for a new challenge. This could be their opportunity to show their parents, the school, and themselves what they are capable of with the right amount of curiosity and determination.

About my class
