Most of the students I service are students exposed to trauma, which makes it extremely difficult to regulate their emotions. Their emotions present themselves at times of frustration from not understanding the coursework to not being able to express themselves, to not being able to create and sustain substantial relationships with their peers. The behavior that manifests itself can be very disruptive to the learning environment. When this happens students lose rationale and are unable to regulate their emotions. Having materials that they can depend on in times of frustrations makes the day a lot smoother for them to deal with. These materials help them manage their stress level of even for a brief second. It helps.

About my class
