I am a first year teacher, I will be working with some extraordinary 3rd and 4th grade students in our Social-emotional Opportunities Academic Results Program. The purpose of the program is to provide an individualized instructional setting designed to help students meet their academic, social and emotional goals. The SOAR program is a self-contained special education classroom. The supplies that I am requesting for my classroom will help me provide my students with flexible seating. These materials will give my students choices in the classroom. My kiddos can choose to sit on the carpet or floor seats and use a lap desk to engage in lessons or use a balance ball or wobble seating to sit at their desk. While teaching a lesson I can use the chart stand to move around the classroom with my students and model what I want them to do on their white boards.
