Many of my students have experienced a lot of trauma prior to entering kindergarten. This year I want to use the techniques and practices from the Conscious Discipline Program ( by Dr. Becky Bailey). I will be using books and materials from the Conscious Discipline Program in my classroom to help my students better understand and regulate their emotions on a daily basis. I will be creating a "Safe Spot" in my classroom where students can go to identify their emotions and work through conflicts. I will be using the emotion dolls and "eggs" to help students understand master these skills. I will also be implementing "Kindness" strategies (kindness trees, recording daily acts of kindness, a year long kindness train) with my class throughout the year.
