My students are 4th graders in a California school. This is my first year teaching 4th grade so I also need to build my library with lots of books about California and missions. This is a healthy community that is very athletic and community-minded. Reading is a favorite subject of many students in my class. I'm hoping to reach students who are not as excited about reading by having books about careers, cultures, hobbies, and many other topics kids love. Sometimes it just takes one book to forever change a student's attitude toward reading!
