The materials included in this project will help to develop a solid social emotional foundation in my students. Before true academic learning can ever take place, students must first be able to self regulate and understand how to name and tame their emotions. Through strategies and techniques outlined by the Conscious Discipline curriculum, such as The Safe Place and Baby Doll Circle Time, students will be able to understand their emotions, develop strategies to calm themselves, and build connections with adults and their peers. Social emotional skills are the first and most important of those learned in early education. With a solid social emotional foundation, students will be better prepared to take on their rest of their educational career and adult life!
