While my students may not be performing at grade level, we still strive to modify grade level topics to their ability levels. With these items we will be better able to organize the materials, modify the magazines to the individual students level while introducing them to more complex concepts, and expose them to concepts they may not otherwise experience. The microscope and butterfly kits will be important with this last step as they may not be academically at that level, but with all the supports and resources on the classroom they can enjoy nature and learn about the life cycle of a butterfly with first hand experiences.
