In our classroom, sharing what we are learning, thinking, creating, and working on is a BIG deal! We have to explain our thinking and reasoning behind math problems. We have to use manipulatives to solve problems. We look at books examining what the authors intentions and dissect the words on a page. During science we observe the world around us. In writing, oftentimes we show each other examples of techniques we are using. In addition, we share all of our published work.
A document camera would be an extremely beneficial tool in our classroom because it would allow ALL students to share their thinking in a way in which ALL students would be able to see it right up on the board! This would not only make sharing our work A LOT easier but it would also contribute to student's pride in their work.
Imagine being a student who just made the most amazing book ever and being able to stand up in front of the class and share it in a way that all students would get to see the little details, pictures, and words that you spent so much time on.
Imagine being a student who is sitting in the back row at the carpet and being able to see every place value blocks that the teacher is moving around to solve a problem and finally understanding what is going on. Imagine being a teacher who can just flip a switch to show the students a text feature out of Judy Moody so that her students have an authentic learning experience of authors craft.
Now doesn't that just make you smile! :) It gives me the feels knowing that my students' learning experiences could be extended thanks to a generous donor like you! Thank You!
