I plan to use the materials every morning. When students walk in they will put away their backpacks and get our their morning tub. The morning tubs will stimulate learning through play. A lot of the materials requested are reading materials. Students will make sentences using silly sentences game. Students will create words with the phonics blocks. Students will spell out their sight words using play dough. Students will increase their vocabulary skills with the Who Has, I Have game. I have also included lots of stem activities such as the jenga blocks and legos. My goal for students when using these resources are for them to increase their reading, phonics, and math skills through play. My students were one of the lowest kindergarten classes in the district but worked really hard and ended up being the 3rd for growth in the district. I want to continue this growth by using these materials. Students learn best through play. I feel as though the materials I have asked for will help me to increase my students phonics, reading, and math skills all while having fun. They won't even know that they are learning. I think the materials would benefit my students greatly because they could use them to work on phonics skills and math skills while having fun.
