The social emotional books are ideal to teach social, emotional, and coping skills to student, particularly when the school might be the only environment in which students receive therapeutic services. The sensory toys are ideal for students on the autism spectrum, toys like the snake or the magnetic tiles reduce he sensory stimulation involved being in a dynamic learning environment. The dry/erase board is an excellent tool because students express feelings and emotions through art. The thoughts and feelings sentence completion cards are perfect for rapport building and to get to know the students. My school has 80% of Spanish speaking students and the cards in Spanish are an excellent way to engage students that are learning English. Therapeutic work in the school setting is strictly confidential, the white noise machine is ideal for confidentiality purposes.
