Unfortunately, technology and other resources do not come along with the students assigned to this alternative setting. Having technology in our classroom will allow me to differentiate learning for all my students, helping them remain on track with math and be prepared as they transition back to their home schools. The laptops will be used for math instruction to provide remedial assistance for struggling students and to challenge students who are ready to extend their learning by giving them access to online resources that will meet their needs. When students realize you care enough to give them what they need academically, then relationships begin to form. Beyond everything else, this will make the biggest difference of all.
