These diverse books will help make our classroom even more inclusive. It's important for students to feel represented, and having a classroom library full of diverse novels will really help with that. These books will show students that they matter. Like Eric Smith said, "When kids grow up not seeing themselves in books they grow up feeling like they don't matter". These books will also increase engagement and interest in reading as well, which will improve their overall reading comprehension. Having these diverse texts in our classroom is so important for so many reasons. Help my students feel represented, heard, and inspired.
