The students at my school deserve a fully stocked, prepared and beautiful classroom. These students deserve to feel safe, excited and welcomed when they step into school. These students' diverse lived experience weave a beautiful tapestry that enriches our classroom and breathes life into every lesson. The supplies on my list will create a vibrant, productive and lovely classroom. In my school community, many of our students are unable to afford basic school supplies such as pencils, markers, and so on. Many of the supplies that I buy to stock my classroom are provided to students who are unable to buy there own. Several of the supplies on my list are things that my classroom desperately needs, but are not provided by my school, which is also very under-resourced. I have also included classroom decor items such as calming lights. Many of my students come from immigrant, migrant and refugee communities, and have often been exposed to trauma and inconsistency. Countless students have expressed that when they come into a room that is decorated with cozy, calming lighting and art, they are able to feel safe and calm to do the work.
