Imagine being 5 years old and so excited about coming to school. You can't wait to explore the classroom and make new friends. You know that you are going to have so much fun learning to read and write and become the best student you can be. In order for you to have the best school year imaginable, you need to be able to see and hear what is going on in the classroom. Luckily, your teacher uses a document camera when giving directions so that you can see exactly what you need to do and how to use materials. Your classroom also has a QBall throwable microphone. You love getting a chance to use the microphone so that your voice is heard. These two pieces of technology can help all students feel involved in the classroom. It can be difficult to meet the physical, social, emotional and academic needs of kindergarten students, but these two pieces of technology can do just that. The document camera allows all students to see even if they are not right up front, and the QBall microphone helps students hear their peers as well as feel heard in the classroom. It's amazing how technology can help influence our students, and it's so much fun to try something new in the classroom.
