The materials I have requested will enable me to create a classroom full of rich experiences that my students would otherwise not have. I want to not only teach my students about the different landforms or animals, but also transport them into the heart of the Amazon or Mt. Everest. When learning about caves, for example, the students may utilize online resources provided by the city and National Geographic to enable to enter and explore caves they would otherwise not have access to. The students will be able to observe and analyze the different rock formations and develop a better understanding of where different organisms live. My mathematics classroom will be one full of movement and excitement that will promote teamwork. The students will not only engage with mathematics in the traditional way, but will participate in games, projects, and research. The students will utilize the technology to project and share their work with their classmates which will enable them to become the experts/teacher. With the buzzers, I will be able to engage the students in fun games that will allow me to check for understanding. Help me create the mathematicians and scientists of the future by instilling love and an appreciation for STEM!
