By providing a variety of texts, my students will be exposed to new people, ideas, and places. It will show them different ways of thinking and open their minds. Teaching in a small, low income school, my students are limited on the life experiences they’ve had access to. When the students realize all of the possibilities and the world of opportunities that are before them, they’ll be empowered to go into the world and be the things and see the places they have read about. I want them to know that they can go into the world and be anything, go anywhere, and change things around them.

About my class
