Students need access to engaging, challenging, and relatable books in order to grow as readers. My 2nd graders will be able to borrow from our new classroom library, choosing just-right books that let them try on new reading skills, stretch their reading stamina, and independently access more complex stories. The books will travel with students between school and home so that access to resources never limits their reading habits and growth. This library includes culturally responsive texts that will allow my students to see themselves in the characters and communities they read about. The range of reading levels, genres, and characters will help all students find a series they love and grow their excitement as readers.
