One of the most important jobs for me is a teacher is to help my students recognize the importance of mindset. So many of my students have a fixed mindset, and don't believe they have the agency to change the way they perceive the world. They are surrounded by hurdles and challenges and a history of failure. With the right mindset, those failures can be the building blocks on which they can create future success. That is why this book is an invaluable resource that will help my students and the thousands that will come after them. As an alternative charter school, my students often come into my class because of a past failure or mistake. With this book, I can shift their mindset to view those failures as potential strengths and lessons that will help them achieve the success I know they are capable of. This book by John Maxwell is filled with inspiring stories of average people turning their failures into success. In these pages my students will see their own lives reflected back to them. By seeing their stories in a new light, I hope to propel my students forward with the fuel of their own experiences.
