Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During different times throughout the day they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students do not have options for seating. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. Having choices helps build independence in young children. My goal is to have a classroom that provides as many choices as possible for my students. I also want my students to feel comfortable in our classroom. The objects selected will help my students have choices with their seating. The wobble chairs will help accommodate the students who need movement. The stable ball will help students to build core muscles and correct posture. The floor cushions will help my students have comfortable areas to sit around the room. The sensory cushions will help students to focus during group centers. I want each student to feel comfortable in my classroom. I also want my students to build independence through having choices. These flexible seating options will help me do that.
