When my students have clear tables it limits the amount of distractions they have. I’ve noticed when their folders, crayon boxes and white boards are on the table they like to touch them at inappropriate times. When I go to the other first grade classes to teach, their students have chair bags and I honestly think the lessons just flow better. They only have on what we’re working on at the moment and that really works. My home room class do not have chair bags and I think it would make them feel better if they did.
