My project will give my students a chance to have a journal to respond to writing prompts for them to share with the class. I believe that regular writing practice for a variety of tasks helps students become more invested in their work as writers. Giving students a space to reflect through writing gives them the opportunity to better understand themselves and their growth throughout the school year. Students need to have regular space and practice to express themselves through writing without having to worry about being assessed constantly. Journals provide students a low-stakes way to work on becoming confident writers without having to worry about grades or critiques every time they get a prompt.
