Providing a classroom environment that is well organized, color coded and free of distractions, will promote student achievement and independence in my classroom. All of my students have sensory needs that negatively impact their learning. Using color coded tables helps them navigate their environment more appropriately and dividers help minimize distractions during work time. By donating to our project, you will improve student achievement, increase student independence and promote staff member collaboration. To say that our classroom is a busy place is an understatement. We have 1 teacher, 5 instructional assistants, 6 related service staff members and 10 students in our classroom at any given time. The storage units will ensure that student work and data is organized and centrally located for all staff members to access throughout the day. The shelving units will also help minimize visual distractions for our students learning in our classroom.
