All items being wished for are well thought out and intentionally planned materials for the classroom. I have done much research on the very specific items that create a very intentional classroom space. I would like to transform the classroom environment from a traditional classroom setting to a Reggio Emilia philosophy inspired classroom. Some ways I will use these materials are listed below. The lamps and string lights will be used to create soft lighting to create a calming energy. The rocks and wooden materials will be used as open ended materials that the children can use in any way they desire. The pillows, curtains, diffuser and essential oil will create a sense of coziness and comfort throughout the entire room. The rugs will create spaces and seating with out the use of restrictive furniture. These items will provide children with a an environment that will not over stimulate rather it will focus and encourage settling in and successfully growing developmentally. I have been teaching for 10 years and can confidently state that these materials will create a space children and families want to be in! The classroom will be a home!
