The very first minutes of the school day set the tone for the remainder of the day. I would like to use “Brain Bins” in my classroom at the very start of EACH day as a fun and motivating way for my students to begin their day. They include open-ended materials that will inspire curiosity and encourage students of ALL LEVELS to work cooperatively as they explore, create, problem solve, and think out of the box. These are all essential skills that future employers will look for. Brain Bins will also get students excited about a new day of learning, by allowing them to THINK instead of becoming bored the very first minutes of the day by completing a typical morning review sheet.
