Many of my students don't read at home because they lack access to texts. This project will allow me to send each student home with a Scholastic magazine that features a variety of writing styles (non-fiction, fiction, poetry, plays, etc.) each month. We know that every minute spent reading leads to growth. This project will ensure that every student in my class has something to enjoy reading when outside of the classroom. It will provide them with a sense of ownership for their own learning. I know that they will be excited to have their own magazine to take home each month. I cannot wait to see the world open up for my students through these texts!
