The supplies above will help solidify learning in the minds of 6th graders in a failing school on the brink of success. The items listed in this project are what I believe are necessary supplies to make this school year an amazing experience in math class. Whiteboards, post-it notes, pencils will all be used to help in this process by aiding students in the process of showing the teacher what is being learned for easy formative assessments. Velcro strips, night lights, number lines, and Mathematical Argumentation will be used to increase engagement/interaction and understanding in the classroom, which will in turn make the content learned more concrete. Coloring pages and the doorbell will aid in calming the storm when individual students and/or entire classrooms have been over-stimulated or have become overly excited.
