With these books, my students will get to join with students from across the state by participating in the state's Children's Book Award Program. The program nominates 20 top-notch books each year. Students who read at least 3 titles, get to vote for their favorite to help choose the best book. Participation in the program encourages students to read some wonderful new titles, try some new genres and be a part of the state-wide program. I can't wait to introduce my students - especially my reluctant readers - to these great books! Throughout the year, the library will encourage students to read these titles through booktalks, video presentations and visual displays. Students will log their books by completing an online or printed form to encourage their writing skills.
