In 2nd grade students are becoming more and more independent and are becoming self-directed learners. I would love for materials to be easily accessible to them, however, lack of storage and shelving has made it difficult for students to have easy access to learning materials when they need them. Through providing my classroom with shelving units, I will be making reading, writing, and other materials accessible to them. In 2nd grade students also enjoy flexible seating, and I would like to provide them with a soft cushion for them to sit in to do work and reading.

About my class
