A majority of these supplies (binders, tape, construction paper) are to help students make "Reader and Writer's Notebooks" as conceived by noted middle school education scholar and teacher, Nancie Atwell. These lessons and ideas help students practice critical reading and writing skills through creative processes and activities. These are imperative to learn at any age, but are especially so in the middle school years! Students will get the chance to record and save "mini-lessons" for reference throughout the year within these notebooks and help them to best understand literary devices, different genres, and editing techniques. The sources for our studies will come from a diverse set of authors and texts to help make the learning experience inclusive!
