We currently have various flexible seating options in our classroom, but I recently handed out a survey to find out how they felt about flexible seating and some students commented that they would like to have standing desks. By encouraging students to stand up in class and move around helps improve physical and mental health, and also breaks sedentary habits that could form as they get older. By providing students the option of using a standing desk, they will be less distracted and will increase their concentration to what is being taught in class. Also, some students may feel tired or sluggish but having an option to stand and walk around can help them focus more on what is being taught in class.
