Students will be returning to the classroom this fall but it will be very different than what they are used to. We will be focusing on social and emotional wellness for the first few weeks of school as well as throughout the year. In order to help students process some of the changes in the classroom that are associated with the pandemic, I am asking for books that will help explain some of the different scenarios students will be experiencing. Being able to recognize and name feelings is critical for students' social emotional wellness. Our list also includes books that help them learn to recognize and name these feelings that may be new to them. It is my goal that supporting students social and emotional wellness through literature will help equip them with the tools they need to be a community of thoughtful, respectful, and caring learners.
