The language materials that I am requesting for my students will help build their pre-reading skills. The materials will be put in the language area of our Montessori classroom. When I put out new lessons, it sparks their interest and they can not wait to get a lesson on it. This material will allow a hands-on approach, which allows​ my children to learn through their senses. This material will allow my children to learn about things that go together and matching objects, which are great pre-reading skills. This project will also help my students to learn colors and recognize color words. My children love it when I read books to them and put books out in the classroom for them to “read”. My children will be more willing to pick up a book to read it if they had objects to use to retell the story. Retelling a story allows my students to grow as oral language learners. This project will help enrich their experience in language.
