I have been teaching at a private school for over seventeen years. This year I chose to teach at a low income school. I know that I can make a difference. Unfortunately the community is poor. I have spend all that I can to buy school supplies for each of my kids and I am unable to purchase a rug for my classroom. The children need a place to sit and have carpet time which begins their early literacy success. The school does not have funding to provide me a carpet and the parents do not have funds to provide the children with learning journals.
