My Child Development classes used to go to a hospital as part of their learning experience on pregnancy and childbirth. They were able to handle and see actual placentas, see the arteries in the unbilical cord, examine the spots on the organ to determine health of the pregnancy, they would sit in on a step by step of the growth of a baby from cell to birth. However, this educational program is no longer offered. Seeing pictures in a book does not always make knowledge come to life. Having a 3D model of the female reproductive system will enable students to understand the different parts of the womb, the growth of babies and how the birthing process works.
