How do you feel when you sit all day during a training or conference? You are trying to learn something new but are you able to? Think about it. Do you wiggle? Are you uncomfortable? Can you pay attention? Implementing flexible seating like wobble chairs and a dry erase table will allow my students to work collaboratively with one another while staying engaged and communicating effectively. Having flexible seating during my small group instruction will allow my students to have control of their bodies as they wiggle, rock, and move around without disturbing others. Flexible seating allows students to work in groups or pair up which allows them to learn from each other and feel comfortable with each other. Flexible seating also stimulates their sense of touch which helps students focus and process information.
