Every child dreams of their first dissection, that moment they explore what are living things are made of. They explore questions like, how are living things alike? What makes my arm different than a chicken wing? My students will have the opportunity to not only answer these questions but ask many more as they investigate living things using the amazing tools you can donate! During each of their dissections, they will construct claims about specific parts and their functions and collect evidence to support or refute those claims. A science class dissection is something that can make a lasting impression on a child; help me provide my students the equipment they need to achieve scientific literacy! This is a gift that will be used over and over again for hundreds of New York City students!
