This project will continue to enhance my classroom allowing me to be able to teach the students proper technique on playing the Tubano drums in an ensemble with multiple parts. Instruments are a great tool to learn about different cultures from around the world. Not only are the students interested in learning how to play these instruments, but also will be taught the history and origin of the Tubano drums. Cultural diversity and hands on world history experiences will enhance the learning experience and increase student engagement. All students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade will benefit from using the Tubano drums. I want my students to be globally aware and musically proficient. Having access to the percussion instruments will allow my students to have both.
