Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times, they may choose a location in the classroom that works for them. These alternative seats will help students take charge their of behavior. I'm hoping by allowing students to choose their seats, they will make good choices about where they sit, be more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. I have noticed when children have a seating choice, they are more engaged and less disruptive in the classroom. The products I have chosen will allow my students to wiggle while they are learning. Not all students can sit still for a long period of time. These products will help my kids make better choices and learn at the same time. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students in other areas and I'm hoping flexible seating will too!
