My students will use these supplies to construct Interactive Notebooks which they will use on a daily basis in math class! They will use their notebooks, scissors, cardstock, etc. to interact with math and create their own understanding through definitions, drawings, foldables, doodle notes, group projects, examples and more. These notebooks will help my students go beyond memorization to conceptual understanding of math. They will cut, color, write and construct their way through sixth grade math instead of just listening to explanations, solving problems or completing worksheets. In the words of Confucius: “I hear and I forget-I see and I remember- I do and I understand.” Please help find this project to help my students “do” and “understand” math.
