Covid has changed how we teach and has created academic gaps. First, flexible floor seating is essential for small groups. Standard kidney tables to do not promote adequate social distancing. In order to meet in small groups, student must sit on floor. These seats allow for students to be comfortable while participating in reading and math small groups. Math tools will help support 2.NBT.B standards regarding place value. The place value blocks will help with modeling addition and subtraction within 1000. The magnetic clock will support 2.MD.C.7 with regard to time. White board markers and erasers will allow students to practice addition and subtraction using white boards. For reading, the frames will support students with tracking. The phonics games will support students in identifying words and patterns. This will support them with fluently reading.
