For many of my students, I am the first and only art teacher they have ever had. Art is not only about drawing and painting pretty pictures but set foundations and supports learning that is to come. It promotes fine motor movements that are needed for holding a pencil and writing, stimulates neural pathways in the brain for focus and critical thinking, and is a form mindfulness that relaxes and calms students. Buying these art materials will allow my students to fully participate in a virtual guided art class without worry for lack of resources. They will be able to follow along with the teacher's instructions and apply the knowledge to various drawing projects. My students have always loved art. They will feel a sense of accomplishment when they look through their art book and see their creations.
