The majority of items on my list are basic classroom supplies for my students. As a first year teacher, I need some help setting up my classroom. Items like the notepads and the highlighters are meant to help students compare and contrast complex text and to collaborate with their classmates. Some of my students struggle financially and I don't want that to be a burden on their education. Some of the supplies are meant to be there to provide basic classroom tools for my students who may have difficulty purchasing their own. Even though I teach government, I also want to include a bookshelf for my students where we can share our favorite books and promote literacy in our classroom.
