After teaching first grade for the past two years, I have learned so much about independence in the classroom. Students should have the opportunity to take ownership of their learning and their work. I want to allow my students to do this by making their own choices. Students will be able to make a choice based on how they learn best. Sitting at a desk, on the floor, or on a cozy cushion. These items will allow them to do so! I would also love to be able to display books to get students excited about what we will be reading or what we have already read. Children will also be able to handle their technology with responsibility and care with an iPad charging station and I will be able to save space!
