At our school we encourage our students to become lifelong readers and we do that by instilling a strong love of personal reading. We dedicate time every day for our student to read books that they love because we want them to love reading when they leave us. However, the truth is that most of us enjoy personal reading when we have somewhere comfortable to set up and dive in. Admit it, no one likes to read in an uncomfortable chair or stool when they could instead curl up in a beanbag or soft chair. This project is dedicated to providing enthusiastic high school readers with a space that allows them to comfortably enjoy reading. The goal is to create a place that is the "place to be" as long as you are there with a good book. This space is also a space where students who are struggling with outside situations of stress and trauma will be able to unwind and feel safe. With your donation we will be able to create this space and I know that my students will be grateful!
