During my 25 years of teaching in Special Education, I have learned that all children learn, understand, and process information differently. Special Education students are all capable of learning!! Many times, students sitting in stationary chairs just does not work for them. They may need to sit on the floor, on a wobble cushion, or on a wobble chair, to help them to focus on their learning. Wobble chairs and cushions will help the students to focus on the task on hand. If the student shifts just right on the seat, it will throw them off balance a little and help them to refocus. It provides them with the extra movement that the student may require, without wandering around the room, distracting others, or getting off task.
