The pandemic has changed the way all counselors need to support their students, so as the NHS guidance department we are aiming to adapt to their needs to have a safe space to retreat to during their days in an ever-changing school setting. It is our desire to increase the level of privacy so that students have a higher sense of security when sharing intimate details about their personal lives - whether these are anywhere on the spectrum from positive to negative. By adding white noise machines to each office in the department we will be able to ensure that students feel secure when sharing information with their counselor, especially in a time with many unknowns.
