The materials will go towards giving the kids a bright comfortable space where they can let their guard down and feel safe and supported. With a welcoming environment the children will learn more efficiently. Flexible seating will allow them to feel comfortable to move amongst the room and the soothing water color decorations will be inviting but not overly stimulating. These materials will help students have an environment they may not experience at home. Many of my students will be low income and will come with their own traumas. My goal is to ease their burdens by giving them a safe space.
