In my class we read every day, with complete choice in the books we read. There are no strings attached with these books, the goal is simply to grow their enjoyment of reading through the year and share stories with each other. These additions to my classroom would help aid those students who are struggling to find just the right book, or they've read so many of the books I have already. When my students left in 2020, they checked out over 85 books. Since then I was laid of Jan 2021 and have been struggling to retrieve these books after being checked out for over a year. This project will aid me in replacing the books that are missing from my collection: many of these being the newest additions to my library as of last March, too. I have accepted a new position at Jefferson HS and am eager to begin sharing as many stories as I can with students again.
